Born in Milton, Ontario, Canada
to Italian parents, Sonja
demonstrated a gift of song at
an early age performing in
school plays and church choirs.
Since the 80’s Sonja could be
found entertaining crowds at
weddings (English, Italian and
Jewish), numerous street
festivals, church plays,
anniversaries, restaurants,
corporate parties and charity
events.
Performing solo, duo, trio,
band, orchestra or choir Sonja
has the ability of standing out
powerfully or blending in
beautifully with some of the
most talented performers and
musicians in the greater Toronto
area. Able to adapt to almost
any genre of music, she doesn’t
disappoint: Adult Contemporary,
Disco, Motown, 50’s & 60’s,
Seventies, Rock, 80’s, Latin and
Dance.
Whether she’s performing in
flawless English, Italian or
Spanish, she electrifies
audiences with her charismatic
stage presence and dynamic
voice. Wherever Sonja has
performed, she has won rave
reviews. Part of this is
because of her professionalism
in her art and part of it is her
ability to draw audiences warmly
into her world of musical
paradise, pampering them with
sounds that inspire and delight.
Sonja has had much practice in
stirring the emotion of an
audience, especially when she
entertained at packed-house
performances at Ontario Place
and on-stage performances at the
Air Canada Centre, Ivor Wynn
Stadium, The Canadian National
Exhibition and Canada’s
Wonderland, numerous television
and radio appearances with such
notables as the late Johnny
Lombardi (“CHIN Radio &
Television”), Shirley Solomon
(“The Shirley Show”), Art
Eggleton (former Mayor of
Toronto) and various CityTV high
profilers, packed-house
performance at the “Energy Rush”
concert at Ontario Place, writer
of a “Top Ten” song called
“Reach For Me”, and on-stage
performances at Ivor Wynn
Stadium, The Canadian National
Exhibition, Canada’s Wonderland,
the Amphitheatre in Cuba and
assorted locations throughout
Canada and the United States.
In her teens Sonja was given the
opportunity to embrace her
Italian heritage by making her
way to Toronto. There she was
quickly embraced by various
Italian communities and shared
many stages throughout Canada
and the United States with
well-known Italian superstars
such as Rocco del Sud, Enrico
Farina and Salvatore Panetta in
cities such as Toronto,
Hamilton, Guelph, London,
Windsor, Fort Erie, St.
Catharines, Thunder Bay, Sault
Ste Marie, Sudbury, Oshawa,
Ottawa, Montreal, Niagara Falls,
Halifax, Detroit, Canton, Ohio,
Long Island, Pittsburgh,
Buffalo, West Virginia and
Boston. Sonja was quickly
brought to the attention of
Legendary Radio and Television
personality, Johnny Lombardi,
when she entered the CHIN Song
Competition and placed 1st.
The following year she entered
the CHIN Song Competition and
again was honoured with yet
another 1st Place
award. Mr. Lombardi was so
impressed with her dynamic stage
presence and powerful vocals
that he asked her to join the
roster of entertainers at their
CHIN Winter Picnic in Cuba.
There, Sonja not only thoroughly
entertained audiences but was
also asked to join the Mariposa
Dance Competition and yet again
brought home Gold.
Sonja is no stranger to winning
competitions. Along with
vibrant natural talent, she
brings with her numerous years
of experience in the
entertainment industry. Her
impressive list of
accomplishments include fourteen
1st Place awards in
talent competitions, two of
which are from the Royal
Conservatory of Music and
another, the title of Miss Italy
of Milton. Sonja also took a
stab at song writing in the mid
90’s and managed to write a Top
Ten Dance Hit entitled Reach
for Me selling over 150,000
copies...not bad for a first
attempt.
Sonja has long been recognized
in the industry as a competent
performer, worthy of applause.
Sonja’s remarkable scope of
experience has enabled her to
remain flexible to individual
need and accessible for all
occasions. From weddings to
corporate functions, from
restaurants to stadiums, Sonja
